It looks as if 2012 is going to be a good year for grass-fed beef! According to new data, consumers are increasingly growing concerned about where their beef is coming from and the environment in which the cows are raised. Additionally, consumers are concerned about what substances are given to the cows to assist in their health and growth. According to a recent study, 75% of American citizens want the U.S. government to restrict antibiotics fed to the farm animals. In the his blog entitled Grassfed Meat, Stanley A. Fishman, author of Tender Grassfed Meat, explores the world of the meat industry and outlines the benefits of grass-fed beef raised the natural way. In this particular blog post, Fishman demonstrates the dangers of the lean meat drug named ractopamine used in the American meat industry. This drug is used to reduce the amount of fat in the meat and enhance the growth of the animal. Fishman polled grassfed beef ranchers (Gaucho Ranch included) and found none of them use this drug to raise their cattle. Eat beef from animals raised the natural way, on grass and with no hormone injections!
