Why Lots Of Grass-Fed Beef Comes From Down Under

Great article from NPR about the current grass-fed beef marketplace situation in the US.

Most grass-fed beef  comes from Australia, Uruguay and Brazil. US grass-fed beef production is growing slowly but consistently. This is due mostly to the weather. Much of the pastureland in the U.S. is subject to seasonal freezes. Countries in the Southern hemisphere do not have freezes. So, as long as there’s water, there’s grass year-round.
